This has been put in place so Moderators know what to do when they first start, after reading this thread you will know what you're supposed to do as a Mod and why you're doing it.
Why we have Moderators?
Mod is a rank below High-Mods, they have been made to keep the basic parts of the server running, and idiot free, by giving Mods the basic roles of High-Mods we can clearly see if they can cope with the dedication. They also give tours, which I will get into more details below
What are Moderators supposed to do?
Moderators are given the task of handling the new users, they have to give them a tour and make sure they get building rights. By making Moderators give tours to new users they learn how to communicate with people without being awkward or intimidating. This then helps the new users because they know how to get around the spawn town and it also allows them to communicate with staff without hesitation. While giving tours, they must also solve basic issues on the server. By solving basic issues they are able to take on more advanced and serious matters.
Why Moderators do what they do:
Moderators need to gain experience, by allowing them to deal with realistic, basic issues and new players they are able to learn the skills they'll need if they ever want to become a higher rank.

If you're a Moderator and you are looking after ALL the new players leaving none for the others, this isn't going to look good for you, so make sure you all take part in giving tours and what-not.
One Moderators per new player that joins, otherwise they feel crowded.
What do Moderators ACTUALLY do?
- Give new players a general tour of the spawn town giving them all vital details - Make sure they agree with the tour first!
- Help new players with anything and everything.
- Find them a plot for their first house!
- Deal with basic issues on the server.
- Become an active part in the community, make more friends!
- Help users around the server.
Other Details
Remember we are always on the lookout for new Moderators, so get your applications in and make it look the best!
If you are not active on the server, fit to an Admin's opinion, he/she DOES have the right to revoke your status.
Remember
If you think someone who is not Moderator is doing Moderator jobs, privately tell a staff member and they will take it from there. If there are any issues be sure to message a staff member.
Also
We LOVE people who bring new users to the server, you can bring new users to the server by getting your friends to apply on our forums!
Just because you have world edit, does not mean you have the right to spawn items for yourself! Use it wisely.
